Bihar Staff Selection Commission has notified 100 vacant Posts in Forensic Science Laboratory for Senior Scientific Assistants under Bihar Police, Patna. Recruitment will be done through Walk-in-Interview. Read further for more info on Recruiting process.

Vacancies are available in Physics, Ballistics, Photography, Cyber, Chemistry, Toxicology, Explosive, Narcotics, Biology, Serology, DNA, Polygraphy, and Narcoanalysis Division.

Candidates who have done graduation in Forensic Science are eligible for posts in Biology, Serology, and DNA Division.

Eligible candidates can fill out the form from 22/11/2022 to 24/12/2022 through online mode only.

What are the Qualifications?

Senior Scientific Assistant in Physics Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Physics/Math/Biophysics/Applied Physics or M.Tech in Computer Science/Instrumentation or Forensic Science.

Note: For Forensic Science Post Graduates, B.Sc. or B.Tech in Physics is a must.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Ballistics Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Physics/Math or Forensic Science.

Note: For Forensic Science Post Graduates, B.Sc. or B.Tech in Physics/Math is a must.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Photography Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Physics or Forensic Science.

Note: For Forensic Science Post Graduates, B.Sc. or B.Tech in Physics is a must.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Cyber Division

Candidate must have passed M.Tech in Electronics/Computer Science orM.Sc. in Forensic Science.

Note: For Forensic Science Post Graduates, B.Sc. or B.Tech in Electronics or B.Tech in Computer Science is a must.

Senior Scientific Assistant in General Chemistry Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Pharmacology or Forensic Science.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Toxicology Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Chemistry/Toxicology or Forensic Science.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Explosive Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Chemistry or Forensic Science.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Narcotics Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Chemistry or Forensic Science.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Biology Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Zoology/Botany/Micro-Biology/Bio-Technology/Bio-Chemistry/Anthropology/Molecular Biology/Genetics or Forensic Science.

Note: For Forensic Science Post Graduates, B.Sc. or B.Tech in Zoology or Botany or Bio-Technology or B.Sc. MLT or Forensic Science is a must.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Serology Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Biology/Zoology/Botany/Micro-Biology/Bio-Technology or Forensic Science.

Note: For Forensic Science Post Graduates, B.Sc. or B.Tech in Zoology or Botany or Micro-Biology or Bio-Technology or Forensic Science is a must.

Senior Scientific Assistant in DNA Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc. in Zoology/Biochemistry/Anthropology/Bio-Technology/Micro-Biology or Forensic Science with a Specialization in Genetics.

Note: For Forensic Science Post Graduates, B.Sc. or B.Tech in Zoology or Botany or Bio-Technology or Forensic Science is a must.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Polygraphy Division

Candidate must have passed M.A. in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology/Criminology or M.Sc. in Forensic Science.

Note: For Forensic Science Post Graduates, B.Sc. or B.Tech in Psychology or Criminology is must.

Senior Scientific Assistant in Narcoanalysis Division

Candidate must have passed M.Sc./M.A. in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology/Criminology or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with a specialization in Clinical Psychology.

Note: For Forensic Science Post Graduates, Graduation in Psychology is must.

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates for Senior Scientific Assistant will be done on the basis of Educational Qualification, Experience and Interview which will be of 100 marks.

(Candidates need to submit all of the asked/necessary document at the time of counselling. Interview will be held after counselling.)

There will be 60 marks for an educational qualification which will be decided on the basis of division in your 10th to post-graduation. Please refer to the table:
