31 Posts for Junior Scientific Officers in the Forensic Science Department for Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Computer Forensics Science in Tamil Nadu Forensic Science Subordinate Service.
Tamilnadu Public Service Commission has notified 31 vacant Forensic Science Department positions for Junior Scientific Officers.
Vacancies are available in the Chemical, Cyber, DNA, and Biology division.
Date: Eligible candidates can fill out the form from 27/04/2023 to 26/05/2023 through Online mode only.
Application Correction Window will be open from 02/06/2023 (12:01 AM) to 04/06/2023 (11:59 PM).
Age: A candidate of 18-32 years can apply. (No Max. Age limit for SC, ST, MBCs/DCs, BC (OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of All Categories.
Fees: The examination Fee of Rs. 150/- is payable by online mode.

Qualification:
M.Sc. (Forensic Science) Degree and a Degree in the Subject for the Group as shown in the Explanation below to which he/ she is appointed.
(OR)
M.Sc., Degree in the Subject for the Group as shown in the Explanation below to which he/ she is appointed.
Note: Provided that other things are equal, preference shall be given to a person who holds a degree in M.Sc. (Forensic Science).
The Group, Division and subjects are specified below:
Group 1: Biology
For Division: Anthropology – The subject should be Zoology or Physical Anthropology.
For Division: Biology, Serology and DNA – The Subject should be Botany/Zoology/Bio-Chemistry/Micro-Biology/Bio-Technology/Genetics.
Group 2: Chemistry
For Division Chemistry, Explosives, Narcotics, Toxicology, Prohibition, and Excise – The Subject should be Chemistry (Organic/ Inorganic/ Physical/ Analytical/ Polymer/ Applied) or Environmental Toxicology.
Group 3: Physics – The subject should be Physics.
Group 4: Physics and Chemistry
For the Division of Computer Forensic Science, The subject should be Chemistry, Computer Science, or Physics.

Examination Method: Objective Type (CBT Method) And Oral Test

Examination Date: An intimation letter will be sent to the candidates for appearing in the written examination through the given email.
Final Selection: Final Selection will be based on merit as obtained by the candidate in a written examination/Interview from a total of 50 Marks.
