The Forensic Science Laboratory is seeking online applications for direct recruitment to fill 14 vacant positions of Senior Scientific Assistant across different sections. Prospective candidates who meet the specified educational qualifications outlined in the advertisement are encouraged to apply online for the available positions. Nationality: Candidates applying for direct recruitment to any position in the service must be:
(a) a citizen of India; or
(b) a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India; or
(c) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is between Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 (Level 7).

Selection Process

Selection for the eligible candidates for the advertised positions will be based on a written examination (objective type) and an interview.

Eligibility/Qualification:

Candidates must possess the required qualifications and skills as specified in the advertisement.

1.) Senior Scientific Assistant (Ballistics Section)– Passed M.Sc in Physics or M.Sc in Forensic Science with Physics or Chemistry as one of the Subject at Graduation level from a recognized University.

2.) Senior Scientific Assistant (Physics and Voice Identification Section)– Passed M.Sc in Physics or M.Sc in Forensic Science with Physics as one of the Subject at Graduation level from a recognized University.

3.) Senior Scientific Assistant (Chemistry, Explosive and Toxicology Section) – Passed M.Sc in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Toxicology or M.Sc in Forensic Science with Specialization in Chemistry and Chemistry as one of the Subject at Graduation level from a recognized University.

4.) Senior Scientific Assistant (Narcotics and Psychotropic Section)– Passed M.Sc in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/ Toxicology or M.Sc in Forensic Science with Specialization in Chemistry and Chemistry as one of the Subject at Graduation level from a recognized University.

5.) Senior Scientific Assistant (Biology and DNA Section) – Passed M.Sc in Zoology/Botany/Human Biology/Physical Anthropology/Human Genetics/Biochemistry/ Micro Biology/Molecular Biology or M.Sc in Forensic Science with Specialization in Biology/Serology from a recognized University.

6.) Senior Scientific Assistant (Serology and DNA Section)– Passed M.Sc in Zoology/Botany/Human Biology/Physical Anthropology/ Human Genetics/Biochemistry/ Micro Biology/Molecular Biology or M.Sc in Forensic Science with Specialization in Biology/Serology from a recognized University.

7.) Senior Scientific Assistant (Computer Forensics Section)– Passed M.Sc in Computer Science or MCA from a recognized University.

Desired Qualification:

In cases where other qualifications are equal, preference will be given to candidates in direct recruitment if:

They have served in the state army for a minimum of two years, or
They have obtained a ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate from the National Cadet Corps.

Eligible for more than one post

As per the specified educational qualifications for the respective sections of the Senior Scientific Assistant’s eight departments, if an applicant applies for one or more positions in different sections, the selection process for the chosen sections will be conducted separately through a written examination (objective type). (Sepearte fee for separate application).

Note: Applicants should ensure that they fulfill all the mandatory educational qualifications and other eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement before filling out the online application form. The deadline for filling out the online application form, i.e., March 26, 2024, must be strictly adhered to.

Procedure to apply online:

1. Visit the official website: Applicants should visit psc.uk.gov.in or ukpsc.net.in.

2. Navigate to “How to Apply” under the Menubar on ukpsc.net.in.

– Click on “How to Apply” and find Advertisement Details, Important Dates, and Instructions for filling up the online application form.

– Click on “Apply Now” to proceed.

3. Registration: Click on “Apply Now” and complete the registration process by providing basic information, login credentials, and submitting the form.

– Tick the box confirming verification of entered details and proceed to submit the form.

– If any changes are required, tick the “Edit” option to modify details before final submission.

4. Primary Registration: After submitting the form, a message will be sent to the registered mobile number and email.

– Click on the provided link in the message to login.

5. Educational Details: Enter educational qualifications, including high school details.

– Add education details and verify or edit/delete entries as needed.

– Proceed by clicking on “Continue” after entering all relevant information.

6. Upload Photo & Signature: Upload a recent photo and signature as per the specified guidelines.

– Tick the checkbox to confirm the accuracy of the uploaded photo and signature.

– Proceed by clicking on “Proceed” after verifying.

7. Final Submission: Review the application details and proceed to pay by clicking on “Pay Now.”

– Print the application for future reference.

– If cancellation is needed, click on “Cancel My Application.”

– Submit the OTP received to confirm cancellation if necessary.

– Once confirmed, the application cancellation process will be completed.

Examination Centers

The examination will be conducted at examination centers in Haridwar, Dehradun, and Haldwani cities (only in Haridwar city if the number of candidates is low).

Admit Card Download

Candidates will be required to download their online admit cards from the website of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission based on their registration number and date of birth for both the written examination (objective type) and the interview.

Notification Regarding Examination Dates for Written Examination (Objective Type) and Interview:

Information regarding the dates of the written examination (objective type) and interview will be announced separately through advertisements on the commission’s website and in leading daily newspapers of the state. In addition to this, important updates will be communicated to the candidates via the email ID provided by them in the online application form or through SMS on their registered mobile numbers. Therefore, candidates are advised to provide their own mobile number and email ID in the application form.
