Known Prints (Tenprints)

Tenprints also known as “known prints” because the identity of the source is known.

Tenprints are a complete set of fingerprints taken from an individual and collected on a single sheet, as the name suggests.

Traditionally, a thin coat of ink was applied to the tips of the fingers before rolling them across a card.

Then roll the finger on fingerprint card.

But in recent years these are no longer popular as electronic ‘Livescan’ gadgets have become increasingly popular.
