Can a Mother killed Her own Child?

A woman who gives birth can also take the lives of her children. It’s terrifying and unbelievable, but not impossible. And many cases demonstrate that mothers can not only give birth but also take their life in certain situations.

Maternal filicide, or the murder of a child by a mother, has occurred throughout history and around the world. The term “maternal filicide” refers to a mother killing her kid. Infanticide is the killing of a child in their first year of life. Resnick invented the word neonaticide to denote the murder of a newborn within the first 24 hours of life.

Mothers are responsible for nearly all neonaticide. Young, unmarried women with unwanted pregnancies who receive no prenatal care are frequently neonaticidal mothers.

Domestic violence, financial stress, and a lack of family and social support all contribute to a mental breakdown.

“In such circumstances, undiagnosed clinical depression and social issues are frequently the mitigating elements. The attendant difficulties of a stressful existence can often push someone with untreated severe depression over the edge,” said Dr. Nimesh Desai, director of the Delhi-based Institute of Human Behaviour & Allied Sciences.

Here we are discussing some recent cases:

A horrifying incident of murder and selfishness was reported from Rajasthan’s Ajmer when a woman sniffed out her one-and-a-half-year-old son’s life to seek “vengeance” on her in-laws. Pooja Sen, the accused, attempted to commit suicide again after 13 days but was saved when she hurried to the doctor after slashing her wrist.

The accused informed police that when she was three years old, her mother died, and her father remarried and kicked her out of the house. She was then cared for by relatives, who placed her in an orphanage before raising her in the home of her maternal grandparents.

Pooja was later returned to her father’s residence, where she married Pushpendra Sen in 2018. After four months, she fell in love with another man and married him. She also left him after a few months and married another man. She then left him and returned to her previous husband, Pushpendra.

Pushpendra’s parents disapproved of her and frequently argued over it. Pushpendra’s father subsequently disinherited him from his property, which infuriated the accused. Pooja then strangled her son and framed her mother-in-law and sister-in-law for being imprisoned as revenge for their rejection. However, Pushpendra’s relatives detected foul play and alerted authorities, who interrogated Pooja and discovered the truth.

In Another Case,

A lady from KwaZulu-Natal has been detained in connection with the murder of her two kids, ages one and nine.

On Monday, she allegedly strangled her infant, Lwandile Nxumalo, with fence wire and poisoned her 9-year-old son, Siphepholo Mthembu, at Bunganeni, Umhlabuyalingana. She tried to poison herself but survived and is now in a hospital under police guard.

Mbazwana police are looking into murder charges. Nonhlanhla Khoza, MEC for Social Development, is disturbed by the incident. “We are devastated by the loss of such innocent individuals. There is no justification for the mother’s behavior of killing her children in this manner “She continued.

In an Incident from Miami

A mother strangled her two children with a red ribbon and told startled authorities, “I don’t want them anymore.”

According to the Miami Herald, Odette Lysse Joassaint, 41, called 911 and hung up several times before cops went to her home for a welfare check Tuesday night.

According to the outlet, she informed arriving doctors and cops about the dead children, “Come get them.” “I don’t want them.”

First responders discovered two toddlers tied up and lifeless inside the residence and attempted desperately to resuscitate them. Laural Belval, 5 years old, and Jeffrey Belval, 3 years old, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the arrest report, Joassaint acknowledged tying up the children, ages 5 and 3, and strangling them with a crimson ribbon. She eventually admitted to detectives that she was having financial and mental problems and that the children in her care were suffering.

Michael Vega, a spokesperson for the Miami Police Department, said the horrible murder had left senior policemen terrified. Two counts of first-degree murder have been filed against Joaossaint.

A neighbor told that the unstable mother pleaded with her to adopt the orphaned children, claiming she couldn’t care for them.

Their stunned father arrived on Wednesday but refused to speak with reporters.
